How to calculate day from any date year range 1900 to 2099

Hope we all are familiar with the term magic. In our childhood days we suppose to see magic in street, fair and obviously in school. Most children are amazed when they see such magic. If I ask a grown up guy “what is magic actually?” the answer probably be like it is nothing but deception of eye but the main thing behind that is pure science i.e. pure mathematics. You probably seen some magic tricks performed in street that you tell any date and the magician will tell you which day it is. Very interesting isn’t it.  Here in this post I am going to share with a real trick which will quiet hard to find in other place. Trick name is calculate day from a given date.

Benefit of learning to calculate day from date:

1. You can surprise anyone with this trick.

2. You can impress your girlfriend too.

3. If you are applying for a job then type of problems are given in competitive exams. You can solve such problems less than 20 seconds.

4. We all have a recent year calendar in our home but do not have calendar of coming year. With this trick you can create your own calendar of any given year.

Calculate day of date year range 1900-1999

Suppose the given date is 25^th December 1990

Step 1: Given date is 25^th

Step 2: Year difference from year 1900 is 0 (1990-1900=90)

Step 3: Leap year present in year difference=22 (i.e. 90/4)

Step 4: Month value is 6

Step 5:

Date:                                             25

Year difference from 1900=    90

No of leap year=                         22

Month value=                               6

                                                    +

                                                -----------

                                                      143

Step 6:

Divide 143 with number of days in a week (i.e. 7 days) and take the remainder value.

143/7= 3 remainder

Step 7: Now see day table and find day which has value 3. It is Tuesday.

Calculate day of date year range 2000-2099

Calculating day from given date year range from 2000-2099 is not too different but has one extra step to get the result.

Suppose the given date is 25^th December 2000

Step 1: Given date is 25

Step 2: Year difference from year 2000 is 0 (2000-2000=0)

Step 3: Leap year present in year difference=0 (i.e. 0/4)

Step 4: Month value is 6

Step 5:

Date:                                            25

Year difference from 2000=     0

No of leap year=                          0

Month value=                              6

                                              +

                                             -----------

                                                      31

Step 6:

Divide 31 with number of days in a week (i.e. 7 days) and take the remainder value.

31/7= 3 remainder

Step 7: Subtract 1 from the remainder value. Now you have (3-1)=2

Step 8: Now see day table and find day which has value 2. It is Monday.
