Those who are practicing criminal law are well aware of the term put up petition but for a law intern at first this little difficult to understand. Put up petition is though used in both civil and criminal matter but mostly used in criminal cases.
Basic meaning of putup petition:
The general meaning of put up is to place before something. Means something to be placed before other things.
Use of put up in Criminal litigation:
In criminal litigation put up petition is used to bail petition. A put up perition is filed by ld. Advocate for praying bail of the accused. If any hearing is to be done before the scheduled date then a put up petition is filed before the ld. Court for the record to to be put up before the court for hearing.
