How to get JIO number back replace in case SIM is LOST STOLEN

Anything can happen with anyone at any time. Yesterday one of my friends lost his smart phone while travelling at train. This is definitely a serious situation. He asked me about the matter that what he should do at that time. I gave him all the instructions so that his phone can not be misused by any offender.

What to do if your JIO SIM is lost or Phone with JIO SIM is stolen?

The first thing comes to our mind when we lost our phone is that any offender may misuse it. If your phone or JIO SIM is lost then the first thing you need to do is file a police complaint or General Diary(GD) at your nearest police station. In my friend’s case he lost his smart phone at a Train Station so he lodged a GD(General Diary ) at nearest GRP(government railway police).

What to write in police General Diary?

There are certain information which you must include to your GD(General Diary/ Police complaints) which makes your GD perfect. These are given below point wise.

1. Things you lost (Mobile model with phone number and if possible give IMEI number)

2. Your name and your Father Name

3. Your permanent /contact address

4. Place of Incident

5. Time of incident

6. From what place to what place you were travelling

7. In which train the incident actually happened (If happened inside the train)

8. Your signature

9. Alternative mobile number (Police may contact in case your phone is found or further investigation)

How to block my JIO SIM card?

After filing the General Diary (GD) this is the most important task that you need to perform. Filing GD dosen’t block your SIM card it just saves you from to some extent criminal liability. But only JIO can block your SIM card. For that you have two options.

1. Call from any phone number to jio toll free customer care.

Toll free number is: 1800-88-99999

2. Call from any JIO phone

(A) for Complaints: 198

(B) for any queries: 199

After calling to jio customer care tell the customer care representative to block your SIM card temporarily. They may verify your identity for that you may require your AADHAR card number or any other ID proof which you gave while taking SIM.
After the verification they will block your SIM temporarily and all series on that SIM will be blocked.

How to get JIO SIM to retain same number?

This step is quiet optional. If you want to get the lost jio number then you must follow this step.

1. Visit to your nearest jio store. Visit jio.com and find your nearest jio store.

2. Visit jio store with your ID proof Xerox copy and 4.5x3.5 passport size colour photograph.

3. Ask representatives to give you SIM replacement form.

4. Fill the form and mention your lost Jio Number.

5. Jio does not take any fees for SIM replacement.
