How to use UTS ticket booking online recharge eastern railway Kolkata

Queue is a very small word but it has a very long effect on human life. When you take ration from dealer you are in queue, when you buy any travel ticket you are in queue. The size of the queue is increasing largely day by day. The solution to avoid queue is to go online. Indian railway has taken a great step to help people avoiding the queue. In almost every now you find ATVM machine from which you can buy local train ticket. In 2015 a new app was launched by railway minister Sri Suresh Prabhu. By using this android app you can buy local train ticket. It was first introduced for western railway. Soon it got its popularity and gradually it was extended to other metro cities. Eastern railway introduced at the end of 2015. The process to buy ticket from app is very simple. Name of this app is UTS (Unreserved ticketing service). You can download the app from google playstore for free.

Steps to buy Unreserved ticket From UTS app ER Kolkata

1. After successful installation of your app launch the app and click on sign up button to register yourself.

2. In this step you have to give your mobile phone number, Name, have to chose city and most important thing Government issued ID card number. Now click on generate OTP. This will send a one time password. After successful verification of your number UTS system will send you a password to log in.

3. Before buying the ticket first you need to recharge your UTS wallet. First 4 steps are shown in below image.

4. At present you can use Netbanking and debit card to recharge your UTS wallet. UTS has used paytm wallet for transaction. ATM pin will be required if you want to buy with your debit card. After successful transaction you will be redirected to your wallet balance.

5. In app menu you a see a button called Book ticket. Click on it. Follow below images for better understanding.

6. In this step you have to choose type of booking you want to use. i.e. normal ticket, season ticket or platform ticket. To buy local train ticket click on Normal Booking.

7. In this step you have to specify your source station name and destination station name. Click on “Done” to go to next step.

8. In the following image you will notice that I tried to book ticket from Bidhannagar to Bangaon Jn station. Chose via which station you want to go. Click on the via link. When you click on it a pop up window will appear and ask you to enable gps. You have to click on go to buy ticket.

9. Select your ticket options i.e. choose no of adults, return journey etc. Now click on OK button to buy ticket.

10. Carefully look at your booking summary and if everything is OK then click on Book Ticket button.

[N.B:]

1. Do not give any false information to UTS system else your account will be blocked permanently.

2. You must be at least 17 years old to use UTS.

3. If you are buying paperless ticket then you must have a GPS enabled smart phone and should keep 30 meters distance away from platform during ticket booking.
