The term provisional means temporary. Provisional certificate is needed when you don’t have the original certificate. Provision certificate is mainly required in Undergraduate and Post Graduate degree. 

Provisional certificate is mainly available after one month of the final result declaration. It takes almost one year to get the original certificate. Provisional certificate is very important for B.Tech students as this is required in their on campus recruitment.
